To our delegates, leaders of the Seventh-day Adventist Church from the Inter-American Division (IAD) and the Jamaica Union Conference (JAMU), leaders representing the fields and institutions, guests, workers, retirees, our members here in Jamaica and the diaspora joining online, well-wishers: greetings and welcome to the Seventh Quadrennial (twenty-first regular) Session of the Central Jamaica Conference, being conducted under the theme, I Will Go: Living the Mission.
The Mission – sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ – has been the heartbeat of our conference since its organization on October 21, 1961. Amidst challenges and triumphs, she has flourished, and this year, we are happy to be celebrating 65 years in ministry. Praise the Lord! As we conduct the business of God’s church, we are totally dependent on His direction. Through the guidance of the Holy Spirit and your focused participation, the work we set out to do will be well accomplished.
Nine presidents have had the joy and responsibility of serving the church in Central Jamaica. To each administration, Almighty God has been faithful, keeping His promises of protection and provision. During this period under review (2022-2026), we have been no less blessed. Of special mention is the steady growth in evangelism we experienced each year, as we continued to “show forth the praises of Him who called us out of darkness into His marvelous light” (1 Peter 2:9).
Special thanks to the CJC constituency for your prayers and the trust you placed in your Conference and its leadership over the past four years. Even in times of weakened revenue flow, including the Covid 19 after-effects and the beatings endured from hurricanes, the selfless stewardship of our churches still shone through. Thanks for tangibly showing your gratitude to God. Thanks for living His mission.
I am, indeed, grateful for the diligence of my fellow administrators, the magnificent support of the CJC Executive Committee, and the ardent work of all directors, managers, and coordinators. It has been my pleasure serving with such a cadre of dedicated and professional workers - at the Conference office, in our schools, at the HS Walters Health Centre, and in the 54 pastoral districts. Pastors, teachers, administrative assistants, accountants, auditors, nurses, Bible Instructors, colporteurs, and ancillary staff: special thanks for your commitment to the mission.
As we prepare for a new quadrennium, this is also an opportunity to commit ourselves anew to Christian life and service.
I invite all delegates to be fervent in prayer for the leading of the Holy Spirit in every undertaking during this Conference Session. And let each one pledge – I Will Go: Living the Mission.

Since its organising meeting in 1961, the Central Jamaica Conference has convened twenty regular sessions. These gatherings — first triennial, then quadrennial — have been the moments at which the church elects its leadership, sets its direction, and renews its commitment to the gospel mandate across Jamaica.
